What does a memorial diamond cost?

From $999 (0.1 carat, IGI certificate included); the price depends on the size you choose. Sending your material to us is included; insured delivery of your diamond is $89. All sizes and prices are on our pricing page.

How long does it take?

14 to 18 weeks from the moment your material arrives until your diamond is delivered. With a jewelry setting it can take a little longer.

Is the diamond real and independently graded?

Yes. It's a genuine lab-grown diamond, physically and chemically identical to a mined one. Every stone is independently certified by the IGI in Antwerp; the certificate comes with it.

Material analysis

Your material arrives in its sealed, labeled box and is checked and registered under your order number.

Carbon extraction

The carbon in your ashes or hair is isolated and refined into high-purity graphite, the raw material of every diamond.

HPHT growth

Under more than 1,600 °C (about 2,900 °F) and enormous pressure, the carbon crystallizes layer by layer into a genuine diamond.

Cutting & polishing

The rough diamond is cut into the shape you chose, from the round brilliant to the heart and polished.

IGI grading

The independent IGI in Antwerp grades your diamond according to the 4Cs and issues its certificate.

Delivery

Your diamond arrives insured, in its presentation box, with the certificate and the full documentation.

The science

What is the HPHT process?

HPHT stands for High Pressure, High Temperature, a process that reproduces exactly how diamonds form in nature. Deep in the earth's mantle, diamonds grow over millions of years under extreme pressure and heat. HPHT recreates those conditions in a controlled, documented way.

The carbon extracted from your ashes or hair is placed in a growth cell and exposed to temperatures above 1,600 °C and enormous pressure. Over several weeks the carbon crystallizes layer by layer into a genuine diamond, atom by atom, just as in nature. Including cutting and IGI grading, the whole journey takes 14 to 18 weeks.

The result is a real, laboratory-grown diamond with the same chemical structure and physical properties as a naturally grown one. No imitation, no cubic zirconia. Gem labs like IGI identify it as laboratory-grown and state this on the report that comes with every diamond.
